I have all my 401k is different growth funds through my various employers. (3 of them). Fidelity tells me I should use their investment management person to help grow my funds more. I’m more inclined to just keep it in the growth funds rather than pay someone to manager. They say their fees at less than 1%. Given I know nothing in investment, should I use an investment manager? I probably have another 25+ years before I can come close to retirement.
Rollover all your previous 401ks to Vanguard IRA account. Choose combination of admiral class ultra-low-cost index funds like VTSAX / VFIAX / VBTLX. Thank me after 25 years.
You don't need an investment manager. Most people don't. But if you think you do, make sure you ask them if they have a feduciary responsibily by law.
As others have said, invest in low-cost funds with small turnover rates. If you do that, on average you can double your investments every 7 years.
Move all old 401k to IRA and just buy index funds VOO , VTSAX etc. you may be paying 401k management fees also, which you will save
To move it over, I am guessing I need to have Fidelity initiate that?
Yes, they will give you a check and you have 60 days or something to rollover into your IRA. If you open a fidelity ira they should automatically roll over your funds
