Posting for a friend of mine at Expedia Is there anything like focus or pip in Expedia? He started working for Expedia from Jan 2022 and since then he’s always under microscope by his manager. He’s always asking him to invest more time into work and giving subtle hints to work even on weekends. Constantly comparing him with other members in the team even though most of the team members reach out to him for help. How are team switching situations at Expedia? Does he have to tell to his manager about this idea before the trails? Also how important is feedback? He’s got like 8 months experience at Expedia. I would say that it's time for you friend to request a one-on-one with their director. To my knowledge there is no pip, yes we use clarity to track productivity but it's never really focused on in my org. Internal transfers are pretty easy but you need to do some asking around to find what team works for you (i.e. I would do great in loyalty since they are fullstack focused and appreciate WLB but payments has a horrible reputation)
Don’t need to communicate with the current manager. Apply internally. Talk to HM and see if it fits and start interviewing. Expedia has full loops to move internally. Easier for internal hires but not as easy as people make it sound here.
Look for a gig
Gtfo... not worth debating with mgr if he/she has already made up their impression.
