Currently in Oregon. From NY, have lived around the world. Where I'm located is too rural. I'm in my early 30s and want to date. My career is stable. I'm firmly a SWE after a career transition. Working right now for a company that is based off of NIH contracts on a wide range of projects (from home). Can anyone with experience in Phoenix weigh in on the dating scene there? For context I'm male, straight, white, fit, bit of a geek, somewhat awkward in large groups of strangers but strong in 1-on-1s and in small groups of familiar people. Looks like a can find a nice 2br place close to the city center for under 2k.

Youāll have luck here. But Iāve also experienced the dating scene in Oregon and had much more luck in the Portland area. The quality of people, in my opinion, is much higher around Portland and its suburbs than in Phoenix (more educated, less homogenous).
I think the sun belt is better for dating than the PacificNorthwest. Its freaking depressing here.
I hear NIH has contracts in Wuhan.
Haha. Probably.
Isn't it like 150 degrees there? š¬
Depends where you go. There are night clubs in Scottsdale full of extremely attractive and fit people that could easily be models. Even if you were an 8 or higher you might feel like a 6. The ones that aren't extremely attractive are extremely rich. There are also the bars, sports events, and other things that are less competitive but you can end up with a really good catch. I don't do dating apps so I cannot comment on that.
How do you meet people?
Thatās a no from me dawg.
Go back to NY
Hard pass on Phoenix, absolutely miserable in the summer. LA or San Diego would make a lot more sense.

Why Phoenix?
Weather. I'm over all of the rain & kind of think old people are on to something moving to places that have mild winters. I know it gets hot, I'm thinking AC and low humidity will make it bearable. Also, the outdoors there is pretty nice outside of the cities.
Fair enough, Iām more of a Texas person, but I hear the Phoenix area is quite nice from friends/family so I say go for it!
