Currently looking to switch from L6 PM at Amazon to SPM at Expedia. Expedia seems like a better culture and more positive working environment than Amazon, but I’m concerned about the product. On all of their social media posts, you have multiple customers complaining about not getting refunds for cancelled trips (maybe that’s common for all travel platforms?). I also think their product lags behind Booking (Hotels), Google (Flights) and Airbnb (Vrbo). What is it really like? Is it a place you can feel stable and grow? Do current Expedians feel comfortable with the new direction the company is taking? I’d love to hear any feedback you can provide. TC: 180k #Expedia #tech
They recently brought in new leadership and starting to allow company’s to leverage their travel apis and platform. This has potential to be big and grow a steady revenue stream.
Thanks. It does sound like an exciting new direction. Are you not worried about the current travel trends (fuel prices, airport chaos due to pilot shortage, etc) impacting travel rebound? Seems like overall company growth will be slow at best, negative at worst over the next 2 years with the incoming recession. Travel is a lagging indicator so probably won’t see the impact until next year. It’s not a bad deal if you can withstand any potential layoff scenario and build slowly over the next few years.
No because ppl will always travel no matter how poor
Dude from L6 u should go there as director/VP. Having given your soul to amazin you should do justice to yourself
Depends if op has management experience. Some l6 at Amazon are just new MBA grads with little experience
