Down level at Google/Meta Vs Up level at Oracle/Salesforce/Walmart Assuming all monetary benefits same. Only difference is scope of your work.
Obviously down level, having money without responsibility is king.
Level up Gain experience N then Switch
I wouldn’t change roles unless there was a comp increase.
Depends on my life's situation. If am in financial stress, i wouldn't mind being downlevelled if comp is higher. If growth or tech is attractive, I wouldn't mind if the other comp is higher.
If you’re planning up leveling at Walmart, I don’t think it will be worth it. If the role is at Bentonville, I wouldn’t even think about it.
Less work. Same money. What's not to like?

What do I need that for? The point of career growth is to get paid more money after all.
