P&G vs Google

What company would you choose to work at if you were in your mid 20s with no kids? Similar comp and roles. (Google is for selling ads and seeing the recent layoffs Im apprehensive on taking it) #tech #job

If you are a SWE, there will be much more opportunity for technical growth, and you will be exposed to technologies you will not see anywhere else.

Its for a Sales position :)

Reading comprehension/retention issues before caffeine, my bad. For Sales, it depends on a lot of factors, and I don't know what PG provides. Some of my experience at Google was in Professional Services, working with Sales. In my time there, Google did not provide comprehensive Sales training. They assumed everyone hired already knew how to sell. If you are early in your career, you may not get what you need to grow long term. They did provide basic guidance to account management roles to try to upsell. It also depends on what you want to sell long term. If it's purely ads, I couldn't say which is better. If you want to sell tech products, then you will be able to transition to other opportunities at Google that you won't get at PG.

For a sales role, PG sounds like might have more scope for professional development. Sales isn't first class citizens at Google.. SWE is. With finance, swe is second tier and traders are first class citizens. This affects your career.. not sure how the TC progression would compare though... G can afford more.

Even though it's on a downturn atm, the name still carries weight when looking for other positions
