That’s the only offer you have and you’re on the last week of your H-1B grace period. Just look at the earnings and you would know how badly this company is run. Look at META and PINS on the contrary. The culture is toxic af, execs can’t be trusted with shit and we’re just throwing shit at the wall hoping something sticks. TC: not in the mood to discuss it.
Guess everybody knows that by now
Is it worth riding for 1 year and collecting a fat bonus and maybe severance?
No, there are equally well paying companies without the stress. There’s no bonus.
I'm extremely low on Snap long-term but this might be a good pump and dump opportunity. Hear me out. I moved from Google to Snap a few years ago and I can testify this company is trash based on my experience and I ended up with a horrible manager and I basically rage quit after a few months. YMMV of course. That said, if you look at the stock price more from a technical perspective, it's been doing huge swings up and down for a few years. After this huge drop, it might do a dead cat bounce and gain back a huge chunk (before it gets erased again). Now if you have a decent appetite for risk and want to make some money quick, you can do this in 2 ways: 1. Make sure Google is still willing to take you back no questions asked within 12 months. 2. Get an offer from a different company that is willing to honor the offer for 12 months. This is quite common when the market was hot. I can only imagine this is very rare today. 2 companies that I suspect might still do this are Meta and ByteDance(TikTok). In either case, you get to Snap, get some vests (be sure to sell on vest or this might be all for naught) and bounce before the 12 months mark. Done. However, if you can get an offer from Meta why would you join Snap lol
But Snap pays 500K+ for L5
Thanks, just rejected my $350k offer
