When the pandemic hit and gov pumped money into the economy, everyone over-hired. No one thought through whether this was just sustainable or not. When one company started to layoff, everyone laid off, and have the same exact message blaming themselves for making bad decisions. When OpenAI released chatGPT and it's so successful, everyone started to put AI in top of their corporate strategy, or even worse, release AI product when it's not even ready. I feel like CEOs are just FOMO at this point. TC:200
There aren’t any visionaries left atm. Zuck just struck lightning in a bottle once and bought everything else. The likes of Gates Jobs Bezos etc aren’t running anything day to day anymore
No idea why they’re paid so much. Most useless position a company has to fill. It’s not like they’re ever held responsible for their screwups.
you are right. but remember ceos are also just average joes. some people became ceos for this or that reason. they are not necessarily smarter or know more about the economy than others. they may have some strengths but they are pretty much normal human beings.
They’re not average joes, they’re the slimiest shmucks around who can politic their way to the top.
that’s true. Xi Jinping is one of the smartest genius on politics and he won the politics game among billions of Chinese people yet he knows nothing about how to run the economy or how to deal with coronavirus.
Most leaders are risk averse and want to keep their high paying jobs as long as possible. Being innovative and a visionary is risky and not for everyone. Do they want to be known as the person who ruined a company? No. It’s easier to slide into mediocrity.
This is the ‘year of AI’ , in addition to being the ‘year of efficiency’ 😀. Whatever the Wall Street wants to hear. DEI and Crypto are dead. Something new will come up next year
Since they are all making the same decision we really just need one CEO. One CCEO to rule every company!
That’s because CEOs are ultimately driven by investors who will jump at any news cycle without understanding the details. You need to be really strong to articulate your vision to investors and justify going against the hype. Currently, we have very few CEOs in the industry capable of doing that.

Same for the wallstreet. There’s no visionary
Why would you expect visionaries on Wall Street of all places? They're leeches not leaders.
They make all sorts of incorrect predictions and estimates. They act all visionary - “market is gonna go down!” but they are also clueless
