I live in Seattle. But with the current housing prices, I don't want to buy a property here. I am happy renting out a place. I have been looking around different cities where I could buy a home for 250k to 350k and get some steady monthly income. I am considering Atlanta, Florida, Phoenix, Texas. The prices in Phoenix have already gone high. The same applies for Austin. So that's lower in my ranking. I am more biased towards TX (Houston, Dallas/Arlington,Austin) as I have a few friends in TX. Feel free to sides if you have other cities in mind. My main criteria is to get some savings every month as part of the rent. Also hoping to have some appreciation on the price over time. Do folks have suggestions on what cities are a good for rental investment? Open for suggestions. TC 250k
Florida a state is the odd man.
Denver?
Look up Orlando Florida. Will be rented all year with all the tourists.
Orlando was my top choice in Florida. But will there be regular income? i.e Having a rental property vs Airbnb. I have not visited or reached in depth. So have a very limited knowledge on Florida/Orlando
Yes absolutely you can have a rental property in Orlando with consistent income
I would suggest Raleigh, Salt late city, Aurora, Colorado springs or Nashville if not Texas!
Where is the city of Florida?
Why does it matter if you have friends in the city if you're using the property as an investment.
Mainly because I have heard more about these cities from my friends. I don't have enough knowledge on other cities. That's the reason for the post to get opinion from folks here
Austin thread : Is it easy to find a place within 350k in a good area that can go easily for rent?
Not in proper Austin, maybe in the surrounding suburbs!
San Antonio, TX hands down. It's just picking up steam. Loads of room to grow in terms of rental cash flow and appreciation. It's Texas best kept secret IMHO

Why are boomers not retiring
Atlanta is growing crazy fast. Lots of big companies opening campuses here. Google Facebook Microsoft airbnb workday and tons more, a lot of imported talent is going to need housing in the near future.
I hear the same. Atlanta is next in my list after TX (Austin and Dallas). Not sure how to compare both. Feel free to let me know if you have any suggestions
How is the law in Atlanta? Is it also renter friendly?
