Subject says it all. Other interviews are mainly based on stories, use cases that you practice during your work. Leet code, we don’t do in our day to day work. Interview process is completely fu..ed up for software engineers. #software #swe #interview
What's "other interviews"
I'd like for you try tackling for a PM interview Qs that based on past work experience/cases LOL
We should create an industry license like lawyers and doctors have, and have the licensing test be leetcode questions and design questions at this point. The test can be regularly updated. Needing to do such things in every interview is fucking ridiculous
SWE used to be licensed for in Texas, but relaxed for whole dotcom boom.
Unfortunately, that type of leetcode interviewing has crossed into all other facets of engineering. I knew a hardware tester with EE background that was given a Linked List coding question in interview. Makes no sense. EEs are doing Linked Lists? No. It's out of whack.
>hardware/ee people given leetcode questions What the fuck? Is every interview process just cargo-culting FAANG now?
This was at a FAANG. But I can guarantee his job would never touch it. Maybe understand some scripting, but not required to create any code from scratch. He failed BTW.
And it allows for a whole lot of nepotism. Certain “ethnicities” really love hiring their own kind.
True.
yup white folk do really love hiring their own
