Hi All, I'm finding it very difficult to make a decision here as Coinbase was very much originally my first choice. I interviewed for IC5 but was downleveled to IC4 due to my YOE being ~3. They said I did passs the IC5. Coinbase Offer is standard 260k with an additional 16k cash bonus. Amazon (NYC) is 180k Base 175 first year bonus, 125 second year bonus and 111 RSU's with the typical vesting schedule. Fist year pay is 370. Dapper is a Senior title with 170k Base, 60k RSU's at 7B valuation and 60k Flow Tokens. This would be a much easier decision if Coinbase was IC5 but I'm finding it hard to leave almost 140k additional salary on my first year income. (This seems like recruiter BS - but they are saying if i perform and work my ass off, I could get promoted in 6months to a year to IC5) One additional point is - if CB/Dapper I would stay living in Seattle and save 10% on income tax. Amazon role is NYC located. TC: 240k L4 Uber #coinbase #amazon #crypto #
Is it Amazon L5 offer?
I would say keep interviewing. Market is still pretty even for 3 yoe and you should be able to get better mid-level eng positions especially coming from uber.
Don’t listen to recruiter, they are misrepresenting what promotion is like at CB. Feel free to DM

Hey OP, can you share how was your system design and behavioural interview at Coinbase ?
How many yoe is needed for ic5 at Coinbase?
Could you share more details about dapper labs
Never accept an offer or make a decision based on promises. Promotion cycles at CB are very hard. There is absolutely no guarantee being promoted from IC4 to IC5 with 6 months of work. Also, I don’t think you cleared IC5 — I have a close friend at CB that became IC5 with ~3 YOE, so their rationale for the downlevel doesn’t make sense to me. Also, why are you leaving Uber? I feel like it’s almost not worth leaving a company just for an increase in 20k TC.
Good point on the promo cycles. Definitely feels like empty promises. On leaving Uber I hit my cliff next year and my comp will decrease by 70k. Also my equity grant is worth significantly less than when I joined.
