Expedia Weirdest Interview Experience.

Recently had an interview for Expedia's Identity Access and Management Team for SDE III Position based at Seattle. My Interview went in the following manner. Initial Screening: Had an interview with the hiring manager over Zoom. He did not ask me any coding questions or any technical questions,He proceeds to explain about the team, the kind of work the team does, and what work I am expected to do. After this, I was informed that I have cleared the Initial Screening Round and they set me up a virtual loop with 3 rounds over Zoom. What happened afterwards was the weirdest interview experience, I have ever had. Round - 1: Taken by a Developer in London and a Vice President of Marketing from HongKong. They only ask me behavioral questions and no technical questions. Round - 2: This interview is taken by a program manager and a Senior Developer on the team. Again, they ask me only about my past work and all behavioral questions. The round gets over in 30 minutes(It was supposed to be for 1 Hr). At this point, I can sense some weirdness. As totally 3 rounds were over and so far no technical questions were asked to me. Round - 3: This round is again taken by the hiring manager who took the initial screening and guess what, he asks me the same behavioral questions he had asked me in the first round. I answer them and I ask him, whether there would be any technical rounds? He replies that based on the results of these 3 rounds, they would decide whether they would move forward and I will have only one technical round with some senior developer. After this, I immediately replied back to the recruiter saying that I am no longer interested in the position because I felt they were wasting my time. Giving 3 back to back rounds on a weekday was exhausting enough and these guys want to keep one more round. But my main issue is, has anyone else ever experienced anything similar in their Expedia Interviews. Having 4 behavioral rounds and then one technical round. Also the team seemed to be not so good. The Manager was vaguely mentioning, that there was not much dev work and a lot of configuration work. So, is Expedia a good company to work for? This interview experience left me very perplexed and with the notion that Expedia is not as good as what I thought it to be. TC: Peanuts. #expedia #interview #

I interviewed last year. After first round they scheduled another round and asked me to complete a coding challenge. I did the coding challenge before the interview even though it was not a requirement . On the interview day, I joined the Zoom call and waited for 10 mins before calling the recruiter to ask why no one has joined to which she replied that the position was filled internally. Worst interview/Candidate experience. I would never schedule another interview with them

I don't get the question. Why do you care whether they're a good company or not if you already decided to end your candidacy? Also don't get why you would want to end the interviews at that point. You already completed 3 and only had one left. Seems like a wasted effort especially if you didn't have much better options.

At that point, I had some offers. I ended the candidacy because they wanted to take one final round(supposed to be technical) after 4 rounds already.

I also had an interview sequence with them. I explained my salary requirements because it seems they were able to hit it. I told them the TC from other offers I’ve gotten and they said there’s no way they or any other company would give me that kind of compensation for only 1.5yrs of experience… the joke, the requirement was only 140k base.

Did they send you the document that it would be 4 rounds with 2 coding rounds, and 2 other rounds?
