Absolutely brutal job market (end is near?)
this is the most common secret in the wine industry, akin to ordering the animal style burgers & fries from in n out but here’s 2-3 ways to get a free tasting from most wineries. 1) most expensive method is to sign up for their membership and they will waive ur tasting and apply the 10-20% discount off any bottles u purchase. when most napa wineries are charging on average $100 per person, this saves $200 for 2, plus the discounts from any bottles u buy. 2) buy in bulk, usually when u purchase half a case, they’ll waive ur tasting fee and sometimes even offer a discount without having to sign up for membership. this has been tried/true for many wineries so it works. 3) this is slightly controversial but if u want to maximize ur pours per visit :) try tipping the somms prior to seating. i dont like this approach but lots of staff appreciate it. another trick is if ur tasting is close to their last group, sometimes the staff or somm will even join u for a pour which can be really fun. i really enjoy this at the smaller wineries where u can really get to know the team/staff and they even share/bring out the older vintages they really enjoy 😊
Thank you so much! I will try 2nd one next time 😆
Love this!!!!!! Thanks for sharing 😉
