Getting a call from social security administration

I have been getting calls from different numbers since the last few days regarding my social security number has been suspended due to some irregular acticitivities. And the robo caller is asking me to press one to connect to a person. I never press one feeling this might be a scam call. But the number of calls i am getting daily has been increasing. So wanted to know if i should talk to the person or not.

Press 1 and then they will ask for your bank account as well to prove who you are. 😀 Edit: I get around 6 blocked calls a day from IRS, Chinese consulate in Mandarin, Microsoft about my windows license expired, roofers with a deal. So far no one has come to my doorstep demanding I answer my phone. So I recommend getting a call blocker.

Just block the numbers, it's a scam.

No one will ever... ever... ever.. call you from the gov / ss# / irs.... they still operate in 1955 and snail mail everything. Block all these calls.

And they mail everything serious in duplicate.

Social security numbers don’t get suspended.

Scammy scam

The first litmus test should be whether or not the person out the phone sounds like a middle aged person from Kansas. If no, it’s a scam. If so, probably still a scam, but you could proceed to further logical checks.

It’s a scam. 100% chance it’s a scam. If it bothers you too much and there’s too many numbers they call from, consider using RoboKiller. Yes there’s a small monthly fee, but since I subscribed a few months ago, I haven’t gotten any spam calls since.

Not so subtle product pitch. Get a Pixel 3 and never pick up the phone again. My wife has a iPhone and she is always whining about another scam call, while I make the bots talk to bots 😎😂

How does that work? An app or built in?

Government entities will almost always communicate with you via USPS mail
