I'm not sure how the future will turn out, but today, Google is a synonym of working internet. whenever you (majority of people), what's to check if the internet is working, or if any app is not loading, we go to Google.com search page. If someone is little techy, by default, first ping is tested to google.com or 8.8.8.8. This is the TRUST #Google has gained over time from the general public. Now we are entering into a new era of AI, and all of us, including those who are not techy, are talking about AI. I guess it's creating a similar buzz when Yahoo, AOL, or Messenger was intended 30-40 years back. I see #chatGPt or #Brad as early adopters and more or the real power of AI is yet to come where general mass public will be using it without understanding the science behind it and we can have similar trust on AI as we trust Google today to check the internet without worrying how the data was fed and if there is any bias on it. With search , we give the power to the end users on how or what they want to look, but if I look at chatbots in current shape, you are using one concrete response. It may or mat not work for all. We still need to look at the impact of ontent copyright issues, and it may change the entire industry. If you look at chatgpt reddit and you will notice how you can mold the response of chatGPT in your favor. Also, response to you or someone else may differ at large degree. Can we trust these varying results? #google #IBM #meta #Twitter #Facebook #Netflix #Amazon #ai #openai
General search chatbots will heavily be scrutinized for accuracy now. Maybe that’s why Google wasn’t jumping the gun yet releasing Bard. Now it’s a shit show. The hype will fade.
I am with you. I think Google tried to release Bard too quickly to ride the hype
ok bro, posting this won't bump you from S to O
Seriously? How is my rating coming into the picture? I am sharing my view and how we may see new and mature usage of AI that you can trust.
Ok take some copium
I’ve compared bard and chatGPT, bard is better at fetching accurate non biased answers even for latest news, chatGPT is better at understanding intent when requesting code, and even then it gets confused between languages when asking to implement a different paradigm. Haven’t tried bing yet.
Bing is dead slow.. Microsoft is doing same mistake to release it without testing what Google did with bard
Imagine thinking Google is a sinking ship over some mistake in a demo where an LLM provided the wrong answer. It's not even an adequate search replacement because training it costs too damn much... ChatGPT's training data stops in 2021 iirc. LLMs are for a different use case than search. Much better suited to being a virtual assistant/personal secretary or something. Solving the problem in search where sites just do SEO tricks to get ranking despite irrelevance to the query will solidify Google's position. Calls on GOOG
Google’s a sinking ship for hundreds of reasons other than the demo.
“With search we give power to the user.” Google search quality has gotten so messy that we have to add Reddit to a lot of search queries. It is heavily censored too. The trust in Google has been eroding for a while now. Hopefully they see this as a wake up call and reverse things.
ChatGPT is synonymous with AI.
Google is a sinking ship.
