How good is University of Waterloo for Computer Science or Software Engineering ? Lets ignore their co-op program and talk about their content/culture, is it really that good ? Is it worth the money ?
If you look at the rankings, the usually top 20. Top 15 in the world last year
They all wear gold class rings and speak French. Can’t be trusted.
I graduated from UW and I’m now in a top tech job, as well as most of my friends
Same here. Wooo
Get into the program first then decide :). That’s the hardest part! My friends in comp Eng all had 95% averages and CS all had 90% averages. Tuition for Canadians is low, so competition for Waterloo is fierce.
Have a good impression
I heard Napoleon met his demise there.
Amazing school! They know how to crack interviews
They call it Canada's MIT
UW CS is overrated. Yes, the very top students are world class, but there are only a handful of them. They are a public university so they admit many and the curriculum is dumbed down. The average student cannot compete with the average at MIT, Stanford, etc.
I’ve worked with a lot of Waterloo people, and they’re all smart, driven people, so I’m guessing they’re doing something right there.
+1 Love Waterloo peeps.
