I’ve been mulling over this for a while now. As an Indian, I don’t think anyone else does more harm to us in the U.S. than other Indians. At work - creating segregation based on state, language, and resorting to favoritism. It’s like going back to working at Bengaluru or Hyderabad. Some of the orgs I work with at Apple (operations, supply chain etc) are rife with Indians. All in the name of diversity. Outside of work - have you seen how rude Indians are toward each other during hikes or at malls? The stares you receive from some of these folks has this weird mix of jealousy and hatred, god knows for what reason. No Indian in the U.S. wants to see you win - definitely not more than them. And they’d go to any extent to bring you down. Don’t get me wrong - other races aren’t perfect, and I have my own issues with them. But I hadn’t imagined that I would have to deal with my own people with regard to this.
Would like to have the red pill or blue pill ?
India isn’t one country - it’s a group of small countries(states with their own agenda). The most racism I felt in life was when I worked in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
> No Indian in the U.S. wants to see you win this isn’t a US thing. It’s people bringing the shitty aspects of Indian society with them. They only do it to other Indians bc they know they can get away with it
I hear you. Being an Indian. Indians need to change the resource scarcity mindset. Stop thinking someone’s win is other ones loss. The world is big enough for all of us to succeed. I sometimes wonder what would it take to change the mindset and behavior of Indians to mentally mature. They don’t understand individuality. Instead of appreciating what they got in US, they keep comparing US with India. India is where the west was in 15th century. Still learning how to treat each other with respect and dignity. We all are equal. How to raise kids. How to treat women. Sorry to say this there are very few Indians who are mentally matured.
May be the issue is with you.
Worst part of Indian culture is the toxic competitiveness along narrow and stupid measurements of "success". If our culture creates people who only feel good about themselves based on being better than someone else (job, degree, money), that's a highly toxic culture. That's why we can't manage to cooperate on any significant level.
Totally agree 👍
Couldn’t Agree more 😮
Work at a faang where this WITCH manager supports people from his state and also speak local language in meetings, during luche. Thought this didnt exists in Faang companies, sad but truth.
Indians are Indians worst enemy across the world … this in euphemism is called - “ unity is diversity “ We all agree with you !
