I am 25 and my H-1B got picked. My current job role is SAP functional consultant but I have done quite a bit of coding in my undergrad days. I am planning to arrive in US in 6 months. I am WFH. If I grind for these 6 months can I crack a job in the US? #engineering #software #swe
Practice coding and do side projects
There are a lot of terrible engineers that do it for the money only, you’ll fit right in.
Teach me, sensei
Here’s the short version. Focus on passing the interview only. Leetcode multiple hours per day, memorize as many questions and answers as you can. Read a book on cracking system design. Do not spend a moment of time on -learning about computers -learning about networking -gaining proficiency in Linux -learning common command line tools -understanding how to work on a team and how to actually build software -developing your passion for coding -software design patterns -unit testing All of that stuff is for the losers that are good at engineering. You don’t need any of that to get a job.
Quite easy - pick one language and one database. Start working on mini projects. Once you start getting into "how I do this, how do I do that" - then eventually you will LEARN.
In this market, even experienced engineers having difficulties finding a job. With no experience it would be suuuuuper challenging to find a job. Especially in the US.
