The debate was painful to watch 😢
So I very recently quit. I have interviews happening. Do I have to disclose I quit? 'fraid this will tank my chances. What reason should I give? Need something solid! I burned out and rto sucked. Obv can't say that What happens when background checks reveal the end date?
I believe background checks take a little while to get updated. You could roll the dice because this is recently.
If they got your resume before or very shortly after you quit and did not ask for an updated resume - you are fine.
Leave your last employment on your LI as current until you find a new role. You will be fine. The only time I would worry about this is if I was using a referral and could burn someone that is not willing to take the risk. You got this.
Keep a copy of resignation email to prove you were not PIPed. Don't bring it up unless asked. Tell them you had family emergency, you asked for support and HR denied it. Then you quit.
The sooner you say the better. You don't want to be caught lying during an interview.
How would they find out?
Backdoor reference checks
Looks better than getting fired.
I’m confused here. Some people are embarrassed to admit they were on PIP/laid off, but you’re embarrassed to admit you quit? What’s the way of leaving y’all prefer? Is it only “I’m happy at this company but I’m willing to consider your company”?
The way of leaving is to be employed and then switch. What if you hire and a candidate tells you he quit? You'll ask why, how will you perceive if he says I quit because I burned out? Would you hire this guy
I would trust my instincts. Plenty of toxic managers and companies to eliminate a good candidate who is prioritizing their health.
