Are SWEs more prestigious than USAF Fighter Pilots?
Hi , I recently got an offer from Microsoft for a L60 role and from a startup called Fabric Inc. Both based out of Bangalore, India. I did a little research on Fabric Inc and was not able to find much information on it. Need little advice on it. Offer details - 1. Microsoft - 55L (CTC) - (19Fixed + 4 performance + $40k stock(4 years vest )) L60 , Azure SAP team 2. Fabric - 29L - All fixed + 4000 stock options - HR told that its $15 per share now and the company can go public in like 5 years. SDE-1 Also i have upcoming interviews with Google (Warsaw ), Booking (Netherlands) , Palantir (London) and Zalando (Berlin) . Should i take Fabric’s offer ? Being a startup i’ll get to learn at good scale. Or should i wait for other interviews to get over ? Current CTC - 30L Role - SDE 1 (Physical Stores) YOE - 1.6 Yrs Also there has been rumours of getting pay hike on considerate levels in Amazon , idk how much of it is true . #microsoft #fabric #joboffers #career #software #engineering
Ctc has no meaning on blind my friend! Just mention the tc which is money you will be getting per year! Your tc for Microsoft is 29 LPA! I think it's a low ball! Stocks can go upto 120k.
Make a poll
No Zalando pls, they pay peanuts
You can negotiate with fabric based on your msft offer. I have heard good things about the company and at your career level it might be worth the risk.
+1 came across this link https://bit.ly/3AiQ0Zl
You have to take the article with a grain of salt as the VC also happens to be an investor in this startup.
heard from a friend that fabric inc recently downleveled a bunch of their employees and that politics is crazy. talk to some employees (ex-employees) before joining
@Faon86 Can you please tell something more and was this for US or Canada?
This happened for all eng (US, Canada, India). the politics stem from the top and most of the top leadership is in US.
hi can you share info regarding palantir interview?
Did you join fabric?
Nope
Which offers did you get finally? And how much? What did you join? for what reasons? How did you apply to Europe from India? Please answer whenever you get time. This will help the community.
For folks interested in Fabric I recently joined Fabric...they don't have the best engineering practices but the good part is the management acknowledges it and they are working on making things better .. Managment is mostly ex-Amazon and the are trying to replicate the eng best practices... It's still in very early stage to comment . The have a good client base and their sales team just rocks ..it's been just a couple of weeks and i see atleast 5 clients onboarded....McD is one of their clients BTW Fabric raised a series C -140M backed by soft bank and it's a unicorn now -1.5B https://techcrunch.com/2022/02/24/headless-commerce-company-fabric-sews-up-unicorn-milestone-following-new-round
Apart from best engg practices, any other red flag?
The tech is not the best but they are improving.....alot to be done and they have a long way......good part management has a clear vision on what's next Typical Amzn culture without pip ... Ownership, documentation, working backwards, COEs, sprint plans retros etc I trust the CEO and he is one of the reasons i decided to make a move. Following link gives an insight of his in depth knowledge of the ecommerce https://www.linkedin.com/posts/faisal_is-shopify-ready-for-fulfillment-my-thoughts-ugcPost-6836367897447817216-JpaU
your current ctc includes stocks for 4 years at amazon?
Yes , the usual weird amazon vesting policy !
