20 US yoe in a specialized area of software that NVDA needs. Is 400k TC (per year) a good offer? 250k cash + the rest in RSU. I didn't ask for a sign up bonus and don't care as much as others about cash portion (just the TC). Can I go higher? Can I get a sign up bonus? I am local and this is in Bay area. I am making about the same TC today from my day job. (Did very well on onsite, per the team, I assume I am the best for them in the current pipeline) Thank you.
There is always room for negotiating.
Recruiter of course mentioned that there is a band, unsurprisingly. I know I cannot go over the band's top number
Nvda base is usually higher. FYI people with 8-10 yrs experience have 200k base at Nvda. What team or business group will you be joining ? I would push for 500K total comp.
500k TC? just to be clear, with the definition of TC I use this is 2 mln over 4 years. This looks steep. I am getting pushback on 400k TC. I got "invited" for a second interview on site. First time that this rerun happened to me. Didn't see this coming and it is already dragging for over 1 month...
Nvidia is base heavy and stingy on stock. What they meant was 250K base for IC6 SW is on the low end and you can ask for more. Also your post is a bit confusing, it sounded like you already got the offer.
Is your 400TC , 400K per year , so 600K in RSU at this time with 250K base ?
Yes, that is my ask.
Nvidia is unlikely to give that much stock
Have you heard about NVDA supposedly applying some backward-looking average for RSU grant price, which in the case of a declining share price results in higher price than the current market price? l don't care that much where the price has been.
Yes thatβs how they have always done it. People were singing praises about it when the stock was rising though π
Got rejected at the resume screen, despite dozens of people saying that they're "hiring like crazy" and "can't fill nearly enough positions". That being said, you can expect max 255k base + 150 RSU stock + 05k sign-ups.
@FastPapuan Thank you. So you are saying that 405k TC is max, I assume not from your first-hand experience. 5k looks low esp giving that I am not relocating or adding any visa cost.
