VTSAX in 401k from previous employer SSSYX in current 401k plan (get 50% match upto $8000) - maxing out this bad boy beginning this year 50% VOO + 50% SCHD in taxable Fidelity brokerage account Dividends stocks in M1 portfolio: O, HD, JPM, XOM, PEP, JNJ, ABBV etc Currently invest $1000/month in VOO + SCHD and another $1000/month in dividend portfolio M1 + $2436 in 401k (with employer match) I have ~90k in high yield savings account (to which I contribute ~5k per month) which I am gonna use for downpayment for a house and I don’t feel comfortable investing that money just yet. Should I continue to invest in VOO+SCHD as my core portfolio or also invest a bit in JEPI as well? Goal is to buy real estate in near term (1-3 years) and capture growth as well as dividends. TC 300k #personalfinance #investments
Sir you effectively own different named ETF tracking the market. Why type of rating do you expect us to do? While it may feel you are diversified, you’re effectively just holding Apple, MSFT, Tesla and Google. Your holdings are highly correlated and will nuke if the market dives. “Nice market buy OP. 👏” “Great composition OP. Might I suggest adding another ETF tracking the market?”
I bought some individual stocks like GOOG, MSFT, AAPL long before but I have stopped buying them and just investing in VOO & SCHD now. VTSAX was the only good choice I had in my previous employer’s 401k plan. Same with sssyx with my current one. Are you saying I should not go heavy with VOO if I already have etf tracking s&p in my 401k?
Wtf? Who gave you these picks? Did you see what % of stocks are in these ETFs you selected? Jesus
Isn’t it generally advisable to invest in VOO and SCHD ?
Beware of over-diversification when using ETFs
Smh, xlf, xle, xlu, xlp add some previous metals as well.
Ur portfolio and plan is good for the long run - don’t listen to these fools
You should have a way simpler portfolio. Easier to maintain. 3-fund portfolio. You can ask portfolio question in Bogleheads forum here with details, and people there give detailed feedback on your portfolio: https://www.bogleheads.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=1 Also, read about a good and simple portfolio here: https://firetobiz.com/investing-basics/ Also, you can hook your accounts here in PersonalCapital and get automated investment suggestions: https://share.personalcapital.com/x/dAZF5R
Too complicated since most many etfs are similar. Also, it is not ideal for non tax advantage account to have high yield/dividend investments. Use taxed advantage account for it
If you pay taxes it means you made money. Would rather make money on dividends in BOTH tax advantaged and normal brokerage than only have dividends in tax advantaged
His did you add so many components to thread and image shows 39k ?
