The tolerant left
I have a BSc. in Electrical engineering with a heavy focus on ML and data topics. I have done courses in deep learning, unsupervised, reinforcement, into to ML, neural nets, big data etc... I am wondering if there will be a barrier of entry to ML/DS roles after my degree. Currently in my last semester of my BSc. and beginning to search for jobs in the field. Also, what are different TCs when comparing BSc./MSc. in the fields. Thanks!! You surely have a PhD in adding hashtags
If you want to get a master's, it's an easier transition to do it now while you are still a student. A master's won't necessarily lead to higher TC but it can be.a differentiator when you are job hunting.
EE with focus on MLE? Wtf. Explain.
You don’t need one if you have a background in ML and can crack the interview
Just go back to school and learn more math, it will make you more competitive in the job market and a better MLE
Math or CS PhD.
Thanks for the replies! Its an EE degree in a neuro-engineering track and it offers lots of courses that are oriented towards graduate students. Lots of the ML classes were with students in their MSc. It has definitely given me a good background for ML topics, however I’m curious how much having an MSc/PhD has become a “prerequisite” in todays job market.. Also, apologies for using all of the hashtags, I just wanted some traction (ChatGPT may or may not have helped me)
Damn put enough hashtags on there
