We did it Austin! We have broken the record for 100+ days at a stretch, ever! Come and live here

The last record was 27 days in 2011, but we have shattered it on last friday and now we are at the 31 consecutive day of 100+ temperature. Thank you all for being part of this awesome record. With 105+ week ahead, looks like we will be able to make it into at least 40 days. Lets beat phoenix in 2030! Come, live here and join in making history - the best city ever for housing and raising kids. #mortgage #housing #sanfrancisco #austin #seattle #denver #summer #best_weather https://www.fox7austin.com/weather/austin-weather-making-history-with-longest-100-degree-streak-of-all-time

Welcome to Texas

Just wait for those snowstorms with no power and water…

Cadence kTaY32 OP Aug 7, 2023

Didn't have power for three days in last winter but you know what people told me live music will compensate for that

Twilio vineyard67 Aug 7, 2023

You’re stupid then to listen to people and move without first experiencing the summer in Texas.

Capital One BddJ71 Aug 7, 2023

Let’s hit 110+ next year, gotta get that annual growth yk

Amazon 🍌s4me Aug 14, 2023

I'm just glad I'm not still living in Arizona. They just beat their 115 degree record.

Dell nojobinatx Aug 7, 2023

2021 was an outlier year when people moved in droves. They have no idea what Austin weather is like. This year too summer was a bit late. Only going to get worse with more global warming..

Cadence kTaY32 OP Aug 7, 2023

I felt 2022 was worse than this year, that year I never saw any clouda

SolarWinds gEMl26 Aug 14, 2023

It most definitely wasn't based purely on the numbers. You know people will come for ACL and SXSW, experience what the spring and fall are like here, and decide to move anyways.

Samsung xMS-lo Aug 7, 2023

I just moved from the east coast after Satya s layoff, it's eff ing hell. Whenever I see some guy with a big cowboy hat, I feel like slapping the stupid hat out of his moronic head

Cadence kTaY32 OP Aug 7, 2023

Same here, stuck here due to visa issues

Expedia Group vwIh37 Aug 14, 2023

You guys need to just be happy with staying indoors or doing other indoor activities in the summer and a whole lot of pool days so it's tolerable. Plan 1-2 vacations away during summer. You get used to the lifestyle change by year 2. It still does suck but fall will be glorious.

Come back, Austiners....California is calling you. Come buy in the bay area and experience good weather, house appreciation, and lots of opportunities, if ever laid off. You know life in 3500 sqft new construction house is not that dissimilar to life in a 1700 sqft box. Come back.....you know that's the right thing for you. Unless, of course, you are on a single income.

GoodRx grx1234 Aug 9, 2023

Are you narrow vision? Bay area != Bay Area

Samsung xMS-lo Aug 10, 2023

I will be there next yr, got laid off from MSFT so had to join wherever I got..I already started lc prep

Snowflake hpes?ck3 Aug 7, 2023

You will make it in 2025. Don't need 2030.

lol have fun when ercot fails

Spencer Stuart JuTV44 Aug 14, 2023

You mean... Like PGE fails every year when that completely unexpected phenomenon of "summer" occurs?

SolarWinds gEMl26 Aug 14, 2023

Or where the local utility starts massive wildfires and has rolling blackouts for a decade after.

Blueprint Technologies dramasutra Aug 7, 2023

Best solution is to drastically cut compensation for everyone across the board so no one can buy anything or do anything that can harm the planet. Let's go back to the basics and live like caveman. More disposable income=more damage to planet.

OpenDoor c♾️kie Aug 7, 2023

Wage stagnation + inflation subtly limits the effect from disposable income anyway. Let’s cut the pay of the top 1% of earners so they can’t pay for mansions and private jets.

I was going to buy a house and move there. Then I looked at the energy grid, and the summer peak temps. Good luck to all the suckers and their $2 million dollar new development homes next to downtown. Y'all bought at peak. At least rent in east Austin isn't bad.

SolarWinds gEMl26 Aug 14, 2023

We'll be just fine, and better without you here. Thank you very much
