I wish I were living my parents' lives. How much money do you need in the bank to buy a home in the bay?
I’m in my 30s with a $3m house in the bay. I’m living way better than my parents. The thing is at your parents time, the gap between manual labor vs skilled work is not that big as skilled work didn’t yet have that high of a multiplier. Nowadays it’s different, you can’t hope to still work in min wage job and hope to be the same.
Manual labor is skilled labor.
it's not skilled vs manual, it's that skills needed for a job have become more complex. work back then required easier skills than today and opportunities were abundant. if you were in construction 30 years ago, you could get by by knowing basic tools. in today's world it pays to know how to operate complex machinery. if our fathers time traveled 30 years in future, they would be jobless unless they learnt new skills
What’s most disturbing is these old people all over the government. Complete disconnect with today’s reality, yet they’re the ones passing the laws.
Apparently voters don't think it's a problem because they keep getting re-elected. What can you do 🙄
Always been like that. Look how old Reagan was when elected on the 80s.
