Amazon SDE 2 salary expectation (Seattle)
Have a call with the recruiter tomorrow. Any suggestions how much should I aim for? My interview went pretty good especially the system design round. No other offers as of now. Have phone interview with Google and few others in a week. Yoe: 7.5 Current TC: 205K #amazon #compensation
155k/90k/65k/78 recent SDE2 offer in AWS. Recruiter told this is the max they can do for SDE2.
It’s really hard to negotiate above what recruiter tells you unless you have a competing offer or just in general willing to say no because of other reasons. You can bluff and most likely they will come back to you but it is not guaranteed.
Any tips for studying Sys design?
I have decent knowledge of common system design concepts(learned at work), so I just went through system design primer(github) and few youtube videos. Discussing design problems with friends also helped.
Max sde2 band in Seattle is like 255k unless you have competing offers I would expect the recruiter to come in around 220k
This is accurate. Expect an initial offer to be about 220k unless you killed it in your interviews.
I am hopeful of getting one more offer but not very soon, might take couple of weeks. Will they negotiate without any competing offer?

250 would be around the top of the band in Seattle. Based on how you feel your interview performance was ask for 230-250.
