are the rumors true ? any other roles are affected ? I should be joining in a non tech related role next month :(
For now it is customer service but the company is shifting more and more to outsourced support so in a few years more non tech roles will be outsourced. Currently IT, Security and credit control is shifting towards outsourced contractors. This is not due to lack of profitability as booking is extremely profitable it's just greedy senior execs and shareholders demanding maximum profits as they kill the golden goose.
what I heard is that they will let people go or temporary hire them by the new outsource company, right? no other options which kinda of wired movement if its true.
Temporarily hired for 6 months and after that it is up to Majorel whether they get to stay or not.
do you know if there are any future plans for non-tech rules ?
I wouldn't know. They say "no", but they said the same about CS last year
Booking.com and Majorel have entered into an agreement to transfer 12 of Booking.com’s 14 internal CX service centers in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Americas to Majorel. Booking.com will retain its internal support centers in Amsterdam and Manchester (UK)
I understand form other comments current CS memebers have to leave the company to Majorel. do you know they will be offered a termination pacakge or so ? I heared few 1000s affect by this.
They say it's not a layoff, employees will move and get same tenure.
That's not a layoff...but move to another company
I think it much worse , you do not get a termination package and the new company will do the actual layoff by refuse to renew the 6-months offer.
Majorel needs to keep the employees for 6 months and after they are allowed to re-evaluate. Since booking CS is paid much more than the average Majorel staff they'll either be asked to take a severe paycut or leave.
What is CS ? I thought of applying to senior positions
Customer service I guess
Yup Customer Support
