Hey, My friend has her Amazon BIE interview scheduled but before that the recruiter is asking for compensation expectations. What range should be given for the same? Her YOE is around 2.5yrs #dataanalytics #data #datascience
Thats what she was wondering, she applied for BIE position but the recruiter mentioned that its a senior position.
Just level set expectations for the interview. Better to interview for a role that's within your reach and get it than be set up for failure for the interviews.
Won't she just be down leveled to L4 rather than fail if interviews don't go as well for L5?
Pay for Sr BIE (L6) Seattle: 200-260k Add 10% for CA or NYC.
Well said! Any idea for the TC for L4 and L5?
L5 Seattle: 150-190k L4 dunno
2 of my friends got L4 BIE for 160-170k
She reached out to recruiter to confirm the level but they said they cant disclose it at the moment but she again highlighted that its a senior role. Confused as to what range should be given
There are few "Sr/Senior" roles in Amazon with L5. It's just a title name. Better to reach out to recruiter and ask them to consider your friend for L4 position specifically and not "Senior" role. But given her 2.5yrs of experience, if she feels confident and technically good, she could easily clear L5 BIE interview, else it's gonna be a horrible interview experience. BIE roles are the easiest to get into in Amazon after BAs.
Just FYI, she'll mostly get L4 BIE with that YOE; L5 if she kills it in the interview. Sr BIE is not doable with 2.5 yoe.
