How many SWEs feel trapped at current job due to the high bar to get hired these days ?
Bar is high only because there are way too many applicants and too few positions

I have friends that have to down level or seek same level even if they are performing higher. Like super impressive eng. I’ve also heard you must fit every req on job postings to be considered
I passed and completely crushed on sites at a FAANG and even after passing they have been no contact on me waiting for “approvals” So even if you pass you still don’t get a job in this market lol
So true. They have way too many candidates to choose from and unless there are competing offers, companies just take their own sweet time.
