Software Development Audiobooks?

Has anyone read any audiobooks about effective software engineering? Audible is my go to for most reading (personal development/fiction). However, software engineering is a technical concept visual aids and code samples help a lot. Are there any audiobooks people would recommend for SWE? Or just suck it up and get the physical copy? The goal would be to learn to program/design software better. #engineering #software #swe

Pragmatic programmer

Nice nice! Did you listen to this personally? How did you like it as audio version?

Its better than what I was expecting. Some code examples you have to follow along. This is the least tech example heavy book I could find.

soft skills

Nice - thanks for recommendation! Is this related to technical concepts/good programming or mainly around life/career as a Dev? Both are great btw!

it is related to non technical skills that programmers need. My life changed after reading that book and implementing each and every concept described by John in the book.

Did read inspired - definitely liked it!! Do you have a book out of those which is focused on being a good programmer? I am still L4 IC so would be a bit away from management :)

Like you said, none of these books are focused on design patterns or deep technical concepts. They’re all focused on managing others or yourself or the product development process better. Learning more about technical leadership will be valuable for you even if you’re not managing people. If you haven’t read them already, DDIA and Distributed System Design are good primers on system design concepts. However, they are not audiobook compatible. I find most technical books are not. Good luck!
