What should I add/remove/downsize/upsize in my holdings?
It is overweight in tech. S&P 500 is also big tech heavy. So there is heavy overlap there also.
ok what other stocks you suggest to balance?
What app is this ?
You have literally no Total Stock Market or International diversification. Tilting towards individual tech stocks is one thing, but having 5 tickers + 6k SPY as your entire stock portfolio is reckless. You should start contributing to $VT until itâs worth 2x of what you currently have. And before anyone pipes in with âSPY is good enoughâ, remember that 2000-2010 SPY had 0% return for a decade, and SPY is at a relative high compared to every other market segment. That usually doesnât bode well for its future
Please this OP. Go look up some basic long-term investing advice, right now with what you have youâre like a step above YOLO-ing all-in on $TSLA.
@irunknee thanks for your inputs. My initial research shows $VT has 55% of assets in US stocks and top holdings are MSFT, AMZN, APPLE, FB, GOOGLE etc. mostly US technology stocks. What is your reasoning behind why $VT is better than SPY.
Remove GE. Itâs not an innovative company anymore
I have lost too much on that stock so I am holding it because of âLoss Aversionâ âšď¸. Ughh... Daniel Kanheman taught us about this but we our idiotic human brain is difficult to change.
Sell a bit each year for tax loss harvesting.
Some somewhat "safe" no frills, but solidly growing (some with added dividends), non-tech that I have are: MRK, & COST. The one tech stock I intend to buy more of is QCOM. Take it all with a grain of salt, but those are some ideas for you
Try and invest in some smaller companies instead of just giants
Amazon ? I am technology bullish, given recovery is fast due to growth it gives. Both 2018 and 2020 recovery is good. Compare with revenue Vs profit , FAAMG are much ahead. Whole market is now consolidating to these tech giants.
It depends on your goals. Pretty hard to give suggestions without knowing that.
Buy more Apple after the split
Could you please elaborate on your reasoning?
So that his/her shares will become more valuable...
