As if killer (literally) commute is not enough, recent wild fire which came very close to many homes has made me realize my mistake of buying home in Tracy. My neighborhood is restless now, suffering with fear and anxiety. These will take toll on health in the long run. MH, Tracy, Manteca, Lathrop are not meant to be residential yet, they are farm lands with land for grazing. Save your health and money, buy, invest somewhere else.
Can’t afford a house in Bay Area. What else to do?
Isn’t the issue for whole Bay Area ? What happens if the fire starts in los gatos mountains? What happens if tsunami hits the bayarea ? You will create another post that don’t buy homes in bay area ?
This is one of the key points to remember when buying a house now. Almost put an offer on a property with a beautiful view of mountains, only to find out that it’s very high fire hazard zone, thanks to the disclosures.
Did the wildfire spread close to the recently constructed homes ? Any houses impacted ?
Do you want houses to be impacted? The wildfire burnt only 14000 acres
It gets ridiculously hot and dry so wildfire dangers tend to be higher overall. That’s why we have fire insurance
There us no more fire insurance, it’s too pricey even if it exists
The videos showed the fire very close to homes. Also there is no escape route once 580 is closed like what happened last week. The fire spread from 30 acres to 14000 acres in 5 hours flat.
you are not fit for Lathrop dont mean all others should not buy
was there an advisory that there will be wildfires there
Will be? See: https://www.cbsnews.com/sacramento/news/crews-handling-corral-fire-thanks-to-statewide-effort/
