Google keeps posting a role called Software Engineer, Early Career. A random thread on Quora said that its different from SWE role and it takes 3+ years to promote to SWE L3 if you perform good. Is it really Software Engineering role and should I join it having my YOE 2+?? Please stop pinging me for interview experience.🙏 #google # hiring #tech #sde #swe #faang
Is it just Google or everyone out there, coming up with new role names to create chaos for candidates. It bcecomes hard to decide that role is even normal SWE or not.
Technically early career is New Grad but don’t understand why it says 2 years preferred. BS
Yaa, thats most confusing part. They have scheduled the interview but when recruiter is not giving clarity regarding role and teams. That is little bit more alarming situation. Its like interviewing in dark for something I dont know.
Because 2yoe is the new New grad. New grad positions getting poached all over the place with people who have a couple years on their resume. We just screened one today and are probably gonna hire him for one of the few new grad swe positions we have open. Why hire someone fresh out of college when you could hire someone with 2yoe and pay them like they're fresh out of college?
where is the quora thread?
tc yoe?
For those who are asking me that did I go with the process. 1. Team is constrained. 2. They tell its GCP but the team actually comes under different org. Anyways, If I want to join google, I wont constrained myself to single team only for team matching. Its better to ask recruiter to start later with process when multiple teams are hiring.
