I have quite a collection maybe 50 bottles or so and I’m afraid they’re going to go bad in a couple of years… what’s the best way to store perfumes?
Do you collect for the bottle design or scent?
For me I'm not a bottle design person AT ALL. Though I can't bring myself to buy tacky celebrity bottles like those from Nicki Minaj 🤮
For alcohol-based perfumes store them in dark, dry places away from humidity. No bathrooms or on windowsills. In general alcohol perfumes have longer shelf life than advertised, since 75-80% content is alcohol. Oil and skin-contact ones (rollers, samples) don't last nearly as long. I have a collection about 50, and over 200 over the years. None of them have turned on me and my oldest bottle is some vintage from the 70s. Do spray out the oxidized liquid in the spray tube though if you haven't used it for a while. I noticed the top notes always smell wrong when the juice sits in the tube for too long.
I unintentionally started a perfume collection a while back.. not by choice, it’s just family members and my s/o would gift them to me. Over the years I started giving them away for fear of them going back and because I knew I would never use all of them.
Wow. 50 bottles~ Of course, it will depend but I had pretty old bottles. 5, 6 years.
