When I look at new AMGs and M series..... God, don't manufacturers get it that we didn't ask for it? These car are getting uglier .... especially with EV/Hybrid initiative. They feel cheaper and now all of classic dashboards are getting replaced with ugly screens... 911 is one of my favourite cars, but can't believe they are replacing the speedometer/accelerometer with fully digital screen... something about analog meters that make the cars timeliness. (Part of why Bugatti or Pagani will never introduce a digital screen, cz it takes away the timeless factor) As a car enthusiast, I'm kinda sad. Do you agree?
AMG GT looks good, what are you talking about Eqs has always been shit
AMG GT is amazing, I had GT 63 in fact for 2 years. One of the most beastly cars on the road. But take a look at the old C43 vs new C43.... same with GLC 43, it's just a screen in the middle and center that bothers me. Someone who spends 10 hrs on computer everyday, I wish to go on a drive where I can get away from a screen. I also had a CLA 45 at one point, and frankly I liked the dashboard better than most of the existing AMG dashboards...
I guess the electric cars are getting uglier because of all the weird aero reasons for efficiency. I would think after a bit more battery progress they could start to have less restrictive designs.
With all digital displays the cars look the same inside, I agree the interior looks cheap looking at amg gt.
In the past cars were designed for men by men, nowadays they are designed for betas by algorithms
Perfectly summed.
No, you’re getting older
I disagree. I actually prefer some of the sleeker, more modern looks of cars nowadays compared to some of the uglier lower end cars of the past. Even though cars are more expensive nowadays, they all come with better features. The real issue is the discrepancy in quality between car manufacturers. Everything other than Toyota sucks for build quality, and dealers are absolutely price gouging consumers for shittier cars that don’t run worth a damn. If auto companies themselves had to sell cars instead of trashy dealers, we would see more of a return to better looking cars that people want to drive. TC: 105K
Even Toyota is facing a lot of problems in the Tundras since they replaced the million miles worthy V8 with the shitty V6. I wish the manufacturers will bring back the design of old school muscle cars, my next purchase will be a late 60s chevelle ss or mustang
BMW is throwing all of their EV design language into their ICE cars now too. The new X3 has a horrendous face
BMW EV with fake plastic looking grill 🤢
BMW used to be 100% functional in their design language. All vents were real. Pretty disappointed
Just buy a Lambo
Pretty soon what you like will be called retro, then vintage, then antique.
I hope so.... sucks seeing cars that were relatively affordable when I was in high school double or triple in price less than a decade later. I remember when NSXs could be had for $25-30K
Just buy a old one, I personally like the digital screens
