Humans are always creating cohorts and fighting each other My race vs yours, my religion vs yours, my country vs yours, my state vs yours, my language vs yours, my political party vs yours
Because my tribe needs to survive more than your tribe
Itās going to continue if it has been there till now. Learn to live and grow with it.

This is actually BJPās fault. A state government is promoting this kind of violence and youāre not intervening, because thatāll affect your local votebank (which is anyway not in favour)
Divide and conquer.. Britās knew how to handle you chu*iyas.. divide them in caste, race and ensalve them..
Without the British each kingdom was happier with their own language. This British with their own selfish ambitions brought all the states under one rule and we have this problem now. I like India united now but you gotta know the history well too. Don't just go and spread your half knowledge around
Bunch of illiterates often burn libraries.
You need some common identity that holds people together it can be a language or religion.. India is the only oxymoron where we as a country are not untied by language(religion also helps to certain level). This was always suppose to happen sooner the better , India should be like Europe each state should be a country and working together as a union like Europe sharing power, resources etc
Disclaimer: Iām a North Indian. When BJP leaders (including Modi) can say divisive things against Muslims who have same faith as invaders from 5 centuries ago, then why canāt South Indians oppose invasion by North Indians into the south imposing their language, taking high paying jobs, increasing cost of living for the locals? Isnāt it the same behavior (by BJP and the protesters in South)? I donāt condone it from either one!
None of the South Indians are imposing their language to be spoken by all Indians. They are asking the North Indians not to do the same to them. It's not rocket science š India is a colorful, rich, and diverse democracy that needs to be preserved with the motto 'Unity in Diversity'. It's called the 'Indian Union' run by a 'Union Govt' for a reason š. The religious/caste (Brahmin) party, BJP, pushing its backward superstitions, fake histories about India and it's ppl through dubious YouTube/Tiktok accounts and social media over the last 10yrs, recent election verdict of the Indian ppl should give them a timely wake up call on not to be drunk with power and run roughshod over others who don't share their misguided and foolish 'sense of superiority' over others. If they continue to function as a 'Central Govt', by the next election, they will replace the Congress in the opposition. Using divisive strategies and promoting hatred to get votes will only alienate them further away from the people. Harnessing the power of all Indians by using the formula 'Live and Let Live' is the only way forward for any party. No Indian aspires to live under a new 'Britain 2.0' run by illiterate, lowIQ, partisan morons in New Delhi.
Yeah , letās remove English signs too. I am not a Hindi speaker myself.
If North Indians feels so strongly about a neutral language like English, which is wholly responsible for India to become a major world economy, lifting millions of its citizens out of desperate poverty and a source of their daily pride, then English should be removed from the regions of North India where they only want Hindi. It's their right. Let the South Indians keep their 2 language policy (English and mother tongue). Especially in their passports. Its their right. Problem solved !
That's what the lack of education does. Let me explain. The station is named after Sangolli Rayanna. Who was he? He was born on Aug 15th (which later became the India's independence day) 1798 in Sangoli, Belgavi. He gave his life fighting against the British East India company. After leading a uprising against EIC authority, he was captured by the British and executed by hanging in 1831. He was not just a Karnataka Hero, he was an Indian Hero who played a huge role in kicking out the British East India company. This video that the X account tweeted is from 2020. They removed the name of the station written in Hindi but did not dare touch the name written in English. Hindi, which is one of the two official languages of India. English was spared because it brings in money. British East India Company was able to rule the sub continent exactly because of this divisive sentiment. Part A of the subcontinent didn't care about the Part B. They perhaps despised each other. Today, even when the sign board has Kannada at the top, a few lunatics despise Hindi written below it (as it should be because Indian railways is of Union Government). Such sentiment will foster division and after 6-7 decades, another British (or American) East Indian Company will rule the sub continent. And again another Sangolli Rayanna will have to sacrifice his life. Keep fighting kids. Sangolli is crying in the heavens.
Sorry bud. You got speak the local language when you are there. I don't belong to either kannada or Hindi speaking states btw. Restoring/Preserving cultural heritage of individual languages is important. Did the south Indians impose their language to be spoken in Hindi speaking states?
Restoration by destruction? And when did English become a local language that itās being preserved?
This is an overly simplistic point of view. Survival in India is hard, most people live month to month. You want them to learn a new language before they move to a specific state? What resources are available for an average person to earn a living, manage household and on top learn a language? Preserving culture is important and can be done in the following way - make it mandatory to learn the local language in schools - celebrate local heritage, festivals, leaders But destruction of public property is not the way to preserve local heritage. Forcing someone who is trying to earn ends meet, to speak specific language is wrong.
