Lately we have seen a surge in Chinese wumaos online trying to rewrite history of this pandemic as CCP propaganda. Examples are plentiful on reddit, check r/sino and how they tried to take over r/china. r/coronavirus seems infected too, try posting anything that criticizes China and see how long it lasts. More importantly they have been trying to hide the story of the doctors who tried to blow the whistle early for coronavirus, and they paid the price. One died, and the other, Ai Fen, got heavily reprimanded for it. Thankfully Chinese citizens have been trying to spread this story past the WeChat censors. It is quite scary how advanced the censor techniques are, and even more remarkable how people went past, folks with a security background would get a kick out of this. Full story under: https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/ryanhatesthis/coronavirus-covid-chinese-wechat-censored-post-emojis I really think China's attempt to censor this crisis and rewrite history made this whole pandemic what it is today and they need to be made accountable when this whole crisis is behind us. Don't let wumaos get away with it, always question what you read especially on reddit where they seem most active.
Do you seriously think people with pro-China view are all wumao? Or you just enjoy labeling people wumao when you don't agree with them. Can people, Chinese people, maybe hold different opinions than you do? I fucking hate CCP and Xi to death. I wish Xi dies tomorrow. But calling every pro-China opinion wumao is equally despicable. Don't become what you hate.
Whi said anything about blind, we are talking about public platforms
I mean check things like r/sino, I checked a few of the suspicious profiles and they are all new accounts with no history, and they're not even trying to be subtile. r/sino looks like r/pyongyang except it's not satire. Of course not all with pro China views are wumaos, but lately there's been a flood of messages with what can only described as that.
Politics is politics. You never know whoever first started the propaganda against whom. If you have noticed how NYTimes and WSJ have made up the story and intentionally misled during the outbreak in China a month ago, you will understand what China has been facing and why they have to take action to clarify. In the meantime, accepting and understanding other countriesā situation and policy is exactly what people from a well developed country should do.
Accepting government sponsored large-scale propoganda? Accepting systematic censorship of critism to government? Accepting disconneting internet access to its citizen for easy brainwashing? NYT is a private media, critized Trump all the time and they have plenty of reasons to question the moves of corrupted Chinese government - so called "čÆ“äøéåā.
Controlling media is what all politics will do. Accept it or not in the US, social media and advertisement are also influencing public opinion. You said NYT is private itās true but I donāt believe criticizing Trump is not beneficial to the other party. (Still, itās about money...) On the other hand, the heat point here is also about one party or two mainstream parties. I have to say two parties is definitely more dialectical as it encourages critical thinking. But if you really see the complexity with a huge population of the poors and the illiterals in China decades ago, and now how they can at least live with basic electricity and internet, can educate themselves with a skill and educate their children, you will see how one coherent party can contribute to mankind in such an international condition. Meanwhile, compared with the people from those countries who accept democracy revolution, I donāt list here, but their country is broken, their people is suffering warfare, now you will understand how developed countries exploit from them regardless of their future. Also, although itās a one party country, with the growth of internet and more and more well educated citizens, I believe even itās one party itās still supervised by millions of people. The example OP provides just to some degree proves it right? Internet brings voice back to Chinese people and they voice the doctors by so many ways. Itās definitely influencing governmentās decision. I also believe Chinese government will gradually grow with time, with stronger internet coverage and they must not ignore peopleās voice.
OP is from hk/taiwan. Born with bias and hate
I can definitely say that Chinese gov't is a total sh$th$le. Not only do they censor and monitor the citizen, they also hire thousands to put fake info on the internet. A true example of what commies do.
I disagree. Oh no I must be a wumao paid by the CCP. Therefore I better keep my pro-CCP opinion to myself so that people in the āFree Worldā never hear it. If I ever let my pro-CCP opinion slip out I to the open I trust that your wumao firewall will filter it out of consideration in your brain.
Exactly ^^
400k cases in India. Karma is real lol
This is something they been doing all the time. Not just on reddit or it is not just this specific incident. They are monitoring/trolling all of the other social platforms at least since l@the last decade. There are tons of biased posts from fake accounts.
Agree, but it seems to me they have been particularly active in the past couple weeks. Literally all my regular information channels are flooded with obvious wumaos, I have never seen it so prevalent in years.
Adobe, I think you are right. They think they have gotten a handle on the pandemic situation in their country and now that the west is affected they want to use the opportunity to engage in the propaganda and frame the narrative.
