Anyone able to implement 55/45 UPRO/TMF with rebalancing in Fidelity or any other brokerage other than M1Finance? How you did it? You spend time once a week/month/quarter to rebalance? What other measures are taken? https://www.optimizedportfolio.com/hedgefundie-adventure/ “It is recommended to implement the strategy within a Roth IRA on M1 Finance, to avoid tax implications and to make regular rebalancing seamless and easy.” #personalfinance #investments
Leveraged ETF in your retirement funds. Good luck with that.
Quarterly rebalancing is fine.
Did you understand why rebalance needed?
Yes, and I also read both the original threads on bogleheads. I just have a calendar reminder every quarter to rebalance. You can go read the backtests that were done at different intervals and see that as long as you rebalance at least annually, there's not really a perfect rebalance schedule for the future. I chose quarterly, but annual is fine as long as you're consistent. If you don't like a temporal schedule, you can rebalance based on asset allocation bands, but that requires more management.
I do not do Hedgefundie adventure but use TMF ETF in my Fidelity 401k (BrokerageLink) and Fidelity Roth IRA. In order to use Leveraged ETFs like TMF, you have to sign a designated agreement that you understand the risks involved, etc. and also need to set your investor profile to "most aggressive". This is fairly easy, I simply called Fidelity customer helpline and they helped me with above steps. After this setup is done, you can buy leveraged ETFs just like regular ETFs.
You doing this currently?
No, instead got signal to buy Nvidia.
I’m tempted to YOLO and do like half my portfolio in it, now that long term treasuries have already tanked so hard. Think hedgefundie might work out starting from this point?
Stop reading reddit.
It's interesting how you assumed you know more than OP while not even knowing where the strategy came from.
